Ringing in the New Year

Ringing in the New Year

Ringing in the New Year at Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School!

2017 began with a bang at Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School! January 1st the group of students visiting from South Korea arrived mid-afternoon in a chartered bus from Chicago. We are pleased to welcome once again, Sumi Lee, and her students visiting in grades two through eight for three weeks during their holiday from school. Loma Huh, the aunt of Sumi, has been working to support this trip along with Jordan Brudos our Enrollment and Outreach Coordinator.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the pizzas from Dave’s as well as other treats at their welcoming orientation and tour in anticipation of their first day of school. Host families picked up their visiting students and after their first night in Viroqua, on January 2nd the group, along with almost 100 others from our community enjoyed a PRWS Ski Day at Mt. LaCrosse! The weather held out long enough for us to experience the thrill of some excellent skiing and thanks again to Jordan for coordinating this wonderful social event.

On Friday, January 6th at a welcoming assembly, the Korean students presented a play they prepared about a king with donkey ears which was enjoyed by all. The PRWS parents and students then sang a traditional Korean song “Arirang” to welcome our visitors.

And the New Year has begun!
